Top 10 Chick Flicks

I'm actually having a sick day today, and it's the worst.  You know those days where you're going to school and you're wishing you were sick so you can stay home?  Yeah well trust me, being sick isn't worth it.  School definitely trumps having a thumping headache and being unable to breathe without it hurting.  Anyhow, sick days, after girly sleepovers and lazy Friday nights, are also the best days to watch a chick flick or two.

So I've listed 10 amazing chick flicks/rom coms below:

1. She's the Man
Okay, so who doesn't love it when a girl pretends to be a boy to play soccer?  This movie is hilarious and full of drama.  It features Amanda Bynes back when she was good at acting, and CHANNING TATUM, need I say more?

2. Mean Girls
I'm sure you've all heard this one before.  This movie is seriously the most famous well-known most quoted chick flick of all time.  It's pretty much about mean girls if you didn't know that already.  It features Lindsey Lohan, another actress gone bad.  What is it with that?  There's also Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried, who both became really famous, and then there's that brunette girl that just went nowhere... haha.  So if you've never seen this movie before, I strongly advise you do if you don't want to suffer the wrath of mean girls (see what I did there).

3. Wild Child
The wild American girl gets sent to an uptight British boarding school.  This movie is all about finding yourself and good friends, which is portrayed in a hilarious way.  There's also some romance with none other than the gorgeous Alex Pettyfer.

4. Clueless
Based on the classic, Emma, this movie is the epitome of high school in the 90s.  There's boys with baggy pants, skateboards, those weird little telephone things and some weird fashion.  I love how in this movie Cher is so popular and powerful, yet she's also so clueless.  Her romance with **** (sorry no spoilers) is also so soooo cute.

5.  Life As We Know It
I for one love hate to love relationships.  Holly and Eric are complete opposites.  She's uptight and loves cooking, and he's a sport commentator who's also a bit of a player.  They also completely hate each other.  Then their best friends die and leave them with a baby to look after together.  You can guess what happens next ;) ;).  Katherine Heigl, who plays Holly, is actually in a lot of other great rom coms.  You should go check some of those out too.

6. 10 Things I Hate About You
Oh god I love this movie.  It's so romantic and oh gosh.  It's set in 1999 so it's not the most modern, but don't let that turn you off.  This movie is so amazing.  I don't know how to describe it.  It's got Heath Ledger acting as the bad boy.  Then there's Julia Styles, acting as a bit of an outcast.  Yeah, just watch it.  Trust me you won't regret it.  Although, if you want a more modern version try watching Prom.  The main romance is almost the same, but Prom is still nowhere near 10 Things I Hate About You.

7. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
Ahahahaha this movie is hilarious!  It's sort of like the battle of the sexes.  Andy is a reporter writing an article entitled 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days'.  Benjamin is a sort of advertiser, trying to prove that he can get a girl to fall in love with him by a party, which happens in 10 days.  Oh, the stunts Andy pulls trying to get him to break up with her, but he never does obviously.  Haha just watch it.

8. The Proposal
It's another funny one.  Sandra Bullock acts as a boss who forces her assistant, Ryan Reynolds, to marry her so that she can stay in the country.  To prove they're really 'in love' he has to take her back to his home town to spend the weekend with his family.  Oh man the things that happen there...

9. What Happens in Vegas
Two troubled drunken people get hitched in Vegas.  Then, what do you know, the next morning one of them scores a jackpot.  The couple fight over the money and end up having to live life as a married couple if they want a shot at having any of it.  Yay.  I love it when two people that hate each other are forced to live together.  It's also Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher in their younger years.  I mean, how much better looking can you get?

10. Bring It On: In It To Win It
Honestly, I love all the Bring It Ons, but this one has to be my favourite.  I'm not sure why but I used to be happy to watch it over and over again.  Maybe it's because Ashley Benson is really pretty and the guy she ends up with is really hot, from what I remember anyway.  Basically, this movie is set at a cheer camp where two teams are cheer battling for the cheer title (see how I just added cheer before everything).  So what happens when these two teams are forced to combine?

Well I hope this list has been somewhat helpful for you chick flick hunting people.  For more information on these movies or similar movies go to IMDB, the best website ever for anything to do with movies and TV shows.

Enjoy!

Love,
M
